Guest speakers were Wendy Anton and Lauren Wildt from Hartford Steam Boiler and they did an excellent job. The session was very informative, with many great questions being asked. Chapter Meetings
Our most recent meeting was on Tuesday, June 5th with 25 people in attendance. The topic was “Networking and Diversity in the Workplace and How it Can Impact Your Career" and the guest speaker was Amy Waniger. In addition to her day job as a Project Manager with Liberty Mutual, Amy is the CEO of Lead at Any Level LLC, which promotes leadership skills, diversity and inclusion, and career management. She also serves on the CPCU Society’s Diversity Committee and is the author of "Network Beyond Bias". Amy did a great job as our speaker and the information she shared was inspiring and helpful. The next chapter meeting will be in September and we are working on the exact date and topic. An invitation with details will be sent in early August.
Social & Networking Events
We are organizing two events that will take place over the summer. Details are being finalized and more information will be sent in the coming weeks.
- Tri-City Valley Cats Baseball Game – This has become an annual tradition that is always a fun event....good food, professional baseball at a beautiful stadium and fireworks after the game.
- New Designee Event - We will be hosting a social event to recognize the 2018 CPCU Designees and all Northeastern New York Chapter members will be invited to attend.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are working on setting up volunteer opportunities and more information will be sent as soon as we have it.
Leadership Opportunities
This November, we will be electing the 2019 Officers for the Northeastern New York Chapter of the CPCU Society. In addition, we will be looking for people to lead or serve on our various committees. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to me and I can provide you with more information. There is a minimal time commitment for many of the committees and the focus is on sharing ideas about how the Chapter can engage members and strengthen the local insurance community. Becoming involved is very rewarding and also helps your professional development. Here are the committees that we have in our Chapter.
