Presient Nino Cogliandro, Treasurer Shelby Dodd and past President Tammy Fembleaux represented the Northeastern New York Chapter at the Northeast Regional Chapter Leader Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts on April 30th and May 1st. Leaders from the CPCU Chapters in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont attended. The meeting agenda included the Future of the Society, Recruitment & Retention, Volunteer Engagement, and CPCU Society Resources.
We shared and discussed the most frequent challenges within our chapters and how to leverage our resources. We reviewed the CE/CEU program successes and, how to get involved with My Path. We voiced concerns about the Chapter website and were advised that updates are in progress. We shared information regarding the future of our Chapters and the Society. We spoke about the advantages of Interest Groups involvement and Society Leadership. We met with some of the CPCU employees with whom we frequently are interacting.
Overall, it was a great success. It provided the venue and opportunity to share common issues encountered by Northeastern Chapters. We left with new energy, ideas, friends and knowledge. If you did not attend the Regional Meeting this year, you should consider attending one in the future.
